Health Minister: Lab Tests Confirm Contamination in Sidi Harazem Mineral Water

Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Health, states that the mineral water from "Sidi Harazem", whose production had been suspended, is contaminated. This is revealed by laboratory tests carried out on samples.
We now know a little more about the suspension of the production of "Sidi Harazem" mineral water. In response to a question from a parliamentarian from the Socialist group on the quality of "Sidi Harazem" mineral water dated November 26, 2019, the Minister of Health sent a letter to him, reports Hespress. The letter remained confidential until now. The document states that "the regional health services of the city of Tiznit had found the non-conformity of the natural mineral water Sidi Harazem" distributed in 0.5 liter containers with national standards during a control tour on September 24, 2019.
According to the Taleb department, "laboratory tests carried out on samples revealed the presence of bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa)". A second expert assessment carried out on other samples of this water confirmed the contamination. Based on these results, the ministry claims to have withdrawn all "Sidi Harazem" water with a capacity of 0.5 liters from the national market, and suspended its production line.
Subsequently, the Ministry of Health also carried out analyzes on the remaining samples of the 1.5 liter and 5 liter capacity. The results proved to be positive. The ministry then decided to suspend all production until further notice. It was also decided to strengthen monitoring and control for all brands and all mineral or table waters at the packaging units, at the points of sale to citizens and at the import points.
