Le Havre Striker Boutaïb Apologizes After Confrontation with Fan During Match

Moroccan international Khalid Boutaïb, striker for Le Havre, had a violent altercation with a supporter on Monday and was even expelled. On Tuesday, the Moroccan player returned to the facts, apologizing.
The incident occurred on Monday, September 13, during the match against Toulouse which closed the 7th round of the championship. Khalid Boutaïb had just been sent off after 60 minutes of unsuccessful performance. Instead of going to sit on the bench, he suddenly crossed the advertising boards to settle accounts with a fan. Had it not been for the intervention of other supporters, the two men would have come to blows.
Boutaïb then received a red card, but he had already been substituted a few moments earlier. On Tuesday, on his Instagram account, the Moroccan player apologized for being at the center of such an incident. "I am aware that criticism is part of our job and I willingly accept it. However, there are limits not to be crossed. Tonight, without going into details, they were largely exceeded," he wrote.
While reiterating his apologies, he thanked the public for their unwavering support. "Now it’s time to work tirelessly, the only key to finding the path to success," he said.
