Harrison Ford’s Final Indiana Jones Film to Premiere at Cannes Festival

Cannes is preparing to host a major cinematic event this year with the return of a legendary hero. Fifteen years after the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the famous adventurer embodied by Harrison Ford will bid farewell on the Croisette with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, partially filmed in Morocco. The Festival will pay a special tribute to the American actor, saluting an exceptional career.
According to an official press release from the Cannes Film Festival, director James Mangold will be accompanied by the entire team during the red carpet ascent at the Palais des Festivals this Thursday, May 18. Harrison Ford will climb the steps to the sound of the famous soundtrack composed by John Williams. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore and Mads Mikkelsen, members of the main cast of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, will also be present.
"In 1995, I had the incredible honor of walking the red carpet in Cannes for the first time with my very first film, presented as part of the prestigious Directors’ Fortnight. Twenty-eight years later, it is with immense pride that I return to Cannes with an even more grandiose spectacle. The entire team and I are eager to share with you this new and final adventure of Indiana Jones!" Mangold said about this long-awaited return to the Cannes Film Festival, which will take place from May 16 to 27.
The Cannes Film Festival is increasingly focusing on Hollywood blockbusters. Last year, festival-goers were able to appreciate the presence of Elvis and attend a special screening of Top Gun: Maverick. This year, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will join this list of films screened out of competition.
The film’s theatrical release is scheduled for June 30, marking the end of an extraordinary career for Harrison Ford who, at the age of 80, will hang up his hat and whip. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas hold the position of executive producers of this feature film, the details of the plot of which remain mysterious. However, the trailer has revealed that Indiana Jones will once again have to face the Nazis...
