The port of Tangier and the port of Hamburg in Germany have signed a partnership agreement that will allow them better traffic management, port cybersecurity, computer data exchange and innovation.

The signing took place during an online ceremony. This agreement signed between the Port Authority of Hamburg (HPA) and the Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA) will allow the two entities to achieve better performance, according to a joint press release from the two ports. "The Port Authority of Hamburg and the Tanger Med Port Authority both hold strong leadership positions in their respective regions and pursue common objectives within the framework of port cooperation, including port management, logistics and digitization of trade."

Jens Meier, CEO of the HPA authority, explained during the ceremony that this partnership is a good thing for the two countries. "The two ports occupy an exceptional position. In this way, the two parties will greatly benefit from an active partnership, especially when it comes to exchanges on issues related to digitization or port cybersecurity," he said.

As for Mehdi Tazi Riffi, CEO of TMPA, he expressed his satisfaction by referring to the objectives pursued by this agreement. "We are delighted to launch this cooperation program bringing together the Port Authority of Hamburg and the Tanger Med Port Authority on important topics related to port competitiveness, digitization and innovation," he said.
