Halal Sausage Maker Recalls Products Over Potential Olive Pit Contamination

Isla Délice, the leader in halal charcuterie in France, is carrying out a new withdrawal from sale for some of its sausages. This time, the reason given by the government website Rappel Conso is the potential presence of olive pits in the product.
This withdrawal concerns the 500-gram Saveurdélice beef-flavored sausage, marketed under the Isla Délice brand by the Amalric (Crystal) group. The products concerned bear the barcode 3512690000842 and belong to the numbered lots 42820111, 42830015, 42840062 and 42850085. The displayed health stamp is FR 42 156 006 CE. These sausages were put on the market between October 17 and December 5, 2024, with best-before dates ranging from April 6 to 9, 2024 depending on the lots.
According to the information provided, the presence of olive pits represents a risk of adverse effects, including potential injuries in case of ingestion. To handle any consumer questions, Isla Délice has set up, as usual, a dedicated telephone platform, which can be reached at 0 811 620 881. The company indicates that it has "not received any calls so far".
The sausages concerned have been distributed throughout France, affecting a wide network including large-scale retail (Auchan, Carrefour, Intermarché, Leclerc, Provera, Système U), wholesalers, convenience stores and butchers. The recall procedure is planned until Saturday, December 28, 2024. Consumers in possession of these products are strongly advised not to consume them and to return them to their point of sale for a refund.
