Hakim Ziyech wins his arm wrestling against Galatasaray

The Ziyech saga continues. The Moroccan player, injured at the CAN, refuses to follow his rehabilitation in Turkey and prefers to be treated by trusted doctors in the Netherlands. A choice that does not fail to grate within Galatasaray.
Injured during the third group stage match of the Africa Cup of Nations, Hakim Ziyech suffers from an ankle lesion. While the Turkish club had planned a rehabilitation program on site, the player does not see things the same way.
The 30-year-old winger has decided to take his destiny into his own hands and go to the Netherlands to be treated by doctors he knows well. A decision that Galatasaray has finally accepted, not without a certain bitterness, according to local media.
This is not the first time that Ziyech has faced a serious injury. In 2020, when he was still playing for Ajax Amsterdam, he had suffered a similar injury. At the time, it was in the Netherlands that he had carried out his rehabilitation, with success.
The player therefore hopes to find the same success by entrusting himself to his regular doctors. A decision that could nevertheless have repercussions on his future within the Istanbul club.
In the meantime, Ziyech will miss the next two friendly matches of the Moroccan national team against Angola and Mauritania. Another blow for the Atlas Lions, already deprived of several key players.
