Hakim Ziyech leaves Wydad, but not empty-handed
Hakim Ziyech and Wydad have officially terminated their contract by mutual agreement. The player is expected to receive around 3.5 million dirhams, corresponding to two months’ salary, a loyalty bonus and housing-related expenses.
The financial agreement includes two million dirhams representing two months’ salary and 1.2 million dirhams in the form of a loyalty bonus. The remaining balance, estimated at around 300,000 dirhams, is reportedly linked to various rental expenses.
These 3.5 million dirhams therefore do not constitute a transfer fee, but rather the settlement of the amounts owed to the player as part of the separation. Once his accounts have been settled with the Casablanca club, the Moroccan international is free to choose his next destination.

Wydad confirmed the termination of the contract on Sunday, without disclosing the amount of the agreement. “Some stories are shorter than we would have liked,” the club acknowledged in its farewell message.
A separation after several weeks of conflict
This termination brings several weeks of tensions between Hakim Ziyech and Wydad’s new management to an end. The club notably wanted to reduce his salary, which the player had refused. Left out of the training camp in Agadir, he subsequently attended a training session accompanied by a bailiff, without finding any member of the staff to supervise him.
Former Wydad president Hicham Aït Menna, who had been behind his recruitment, sent him one final message: “You came as a star and you leave as a star,” praising his loyalty and professionalism.
On Bladi.net : Hakim Ziyech had his ticket and video for Brazil… then he backed out
At 33, Hakim Ziyech remains notably sought after by Botafogo. His move to Brazil appeared to be finalized before the player requested time to consider, despite a presentation video already filmed and a trip that had been arranged. Negotiations have reportedly since resumed, and the official end of his contract with Wydad now removes the final administrative obstacle to a possible departure.
