Hajj 1447: Price Cuts and New Framework for Moroccan Pilgrims
For the Hajj 1447 season, Morocco authorizes the departure of 34,000 pilgrims and announces a reduction in fares. New supervision and preparation measures have also been implemented by the authorities.
The Minister of Religious Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, detailed on Monday before the House of Representatives the organization of the new pilgrimage season. Of all the faithful, 22,200 will travel via the official government system, while 11,800 will go through approved travel agencies. On the financial front, the cost of the journey under state auspices amounts to 63,121 dirhams (approximately 6,420 euros), marking a reduction of 3,000 dirhams (nearly 304 euros) compared to last year.

To improve care, the ministry strengthened its coordination with the various institutions of the Royal Commission for the Hajj. The authorities introduced preparatory sessions to explain procedures and practical requirements before departure. In parallel, awareness campaigns were expanded in mosques and national media, supplemented by the distribution of practical guides covering all stages of the journey.
Logistical and human supervision has also been defined with precision. The list of supervisors and accompanying personnel has been validated, ensuring a ratio of one supervisor for 49 pilgrims. On-site movements will be governed by a structured transportation plan. Furthermore, each pilgrim will receive a digital identification card containing their personal and logistical data to streamline procedures throughout their stay.
