Moroccan Pilgrims Face Accommodation Crisis During Hajj in Mecca

In Mecca, Moroccan pilgrims who have embarked on the hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, sleep under the stars, for lack of space in the tents.
Dozens of Moroccan pilgrims are suffering in Mecca. They have not yet found accommodation tents in Mina, and are forced to sleep under the stars under high temperatures, reports the Al3omk site, adding that the distribution of tents did not go smoothly. Some Moroccan pilgrims had to hurry to get them, which quickly exhausted them. On Thursday, pilgrims had already reported these difficulties to the officials of the Moroccan Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs.
Every year, the Mina site, located 7 kilometers northeast of the sacred mosque in Mecca, welcomes millions of pilgrims from around the world. Tents are installed there on an area estimated at 2.5 million square meters to accommodate the pilgrims. The latter arrived in Mina on Friday for the day of Tarwiya. This Saturday, all the pilgrims, including those who are sick and hospitalized in Saudi hospitals, converge towards Arafat for the station on the mountain of the same name. This will be followed by the stoning of Satan, the sacrifice, the circumambulation of the Kaaba, the race between Safa and Marwa, on Sunday, June 16.
