Google Doodle Honors Ronit Elkabetz, Iconic Israeli-Moroccan Actress and Activist

On Sunday, November 27, the search engine Google posted a Doodle in honor of Israeli-Moroccan actress and activist Ronit Elkabetz. A well-deserved tribute to the woman considered a diva of cinema.
The Israeli actress and activist of Moroccan origin, Ronit Elkabetz, became known in the world of cinema with the film "The Predestined" released in 1989, in which she played the lead role. The one to whom Google decided to pay tribute on Sunday will go through some dry spells, especially after her move to Paris in 1997. But her determination to succeed in the field of cinema will eventually pay off. She meets with great success in 2001 in "Origine Contrôlée" which was acclaimed by the audience award at the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival. She plays a transvestite there, reports Cnews.
As an activist, Ronit Elkabetz became known for her fight for peace, like this call for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that she undertook in 2014 with her brother and other Israeli actors. "I am constantly searching for my roots. I was born to immigrant parents from Morocco. My foundations and my culture are plural, but my story is Israel," she explained to Rue89 in 2008.
In 2016, Ronit Elkabetz died in Tel Aviv after losing her battle against lung cancer. She was 51 years old.
