GNV Boosts Passenger and Freight Capacity on Almeria-Nador Ferry Route

The Italian shipping company GNV has just put the ferry "Cristal" on the route between Almeria and the Moroccan port of Nador, thus increasing its ro-ro freight capacity to around 1,300 linear meters.
The ferry "Cristal" is replacing the ferry "Aurelia" which was operating the route between Almeria and Nador. Built in Germany in 1989, the new vessel is 161.3 meters long and 29 meters wide and can carry around 1,300 linear meters of cargo, allowing the Italian shipping company to increase its ro-ro freight capacity on this line. The "Cristal" can travel at a maximum speed of 17 knots and has more than 330 cabins that can accommodate 2,000 passengers.
GNV launched the regular service between Almeria and Nador as part of Operation Marhaba 2022. The "GNV Bridge" vessel was operating this route in July, before being replaced in early August by "Aurelia". With the "Cristal" ship also serving the route between Nador, Barcelona and the French port of Sète, GNV is showing its willingness to further exploit this line in the coming months. Founded in 1992, the company has a fleet of 25 ships serving 30 maritime routes in Italy, Spain, France, Albania, Tunisia, Morocco and Malta.
