Glory Kickboxing Announces Star-Studded February Event with Verhoeven, Hari, and Overeem

Pierre Andurand, president of the Glory kickboxing organization, expressed his satisfaction after the fight between Rico Verhoeven and Jamal Ben Saddik. Over 18,000 fans were present and 100,000 pay-per-views were sold. Glory is already announcing a new event for February 19, 2022 and promises Badr Hari, Rico Verhoeven and Alistair Overeem.
The next Glory gala will be held in Arnhem, the Netherlands. "Rico Verhoeven will probably be present. We would also like to see Badr Hari and Alistair Overheem in the ring, if they are not injured. We are going to make it an extraordinary event, with all the big names," said the Frenchman to Dutch media.
The only gala that has surpassed the results of last Saturday, dating back to the end of 2019, when Rico Verhoeven had beaten Badr Hari in the GelreDome. That day, more than 32,000 people had traveled to see the live match. "This sport was already very popular in the Netherlands before, but now it has become much bigger, with the media and everything that goes with it. It was really a great evening. The way the show was organized was excellent and the audience really touched me," Andurand said.
Glory had difficult times due to the health crisis and was on the verge of bankruptcy. In a last-ditch attempt, the organization has embarked on the "pay-per-view" system and is more than satisfied with the 100,000 sales of the fight between Verhoeven and Ben Saddik. "It is not financially viable for Glory to broadcast the fights for free on television. If we want to survive in the long term, pay-per-view is the only option," Andurand further explained.
