’Gladiator 2’ Set for November 2024 Release, Filming to Begin in Morocco

The Paramount film production company has set the release date for the American-British film Gladiator 2, which will soon be filmed in Ouarzazate, Morocco.
Paramount announces that the sequel to the American-British film Gladiator will be released on November 22, 2024, reports Deadline. Filming is expected to begin in May. Irish actor Paul Mescal, known for his role in the series Normal People, will play the role of Lucius, the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen), who is now an adult, the story taking place years after the end of the first film. Lucius was also the nephew of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), the son of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, who murdered his father to seize the throne.
Released in 2000 in the United States and awarded five Oscars, including those for Best Film and Best Actor, Gladiator is a film directed by Ridley Scott with Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix.
