German Energy Giant RWE to Supply Morocco with Gas via Spain’s Pipeline

The German energy giant RWE will supply Morocco with gas via the Maghreb-Europe pipeline in reverse flow as part of the new agreement between Morocco and Spain.
The German company is preparing to transport its methane tankers to Spain, which will be responsible for converting the liquefied natural gas (LNG) in its regasification plants before sending it to Morocco via the Maghreb-Europe pipeline in reverse flow, says Energy Intel, specifying that the shipments will be made as soon as the German giant has obtained all the necessary authorizations.
Since the first delivery on Tuesday, Spain is exporting to Morocco a quantity of gas very close to what it receives from Algeria. The latter closed in October the Maghreb-Europe pipeline crossing Morocco, after having broken off its diplomatic relations with the kingdom in August.
