Gad Elmaleh Reflects on Plagiarism Scandal, Forgiveness, and Industry Lessons

Moroccan comedian Gad Elmaleh took the opportunity of a television show to look back on the experiences he went through in the plagiarism case he was a victim of in 2019 and said he had forgiven his detractors. The "Chouchou" actor draws a great lesson from this experience on human nature.
Very bitter last Saturday on the set of RTL France, the Canadian-Moroccan comedian Gad Elmaleh reveals that this dark episode of his life and career, instead of shaking him, has made him much stronger and allows him to see things differently. He also points out that he has learned a lot about the human being, particularly his entourage.
Elmaleh says he was extremely marked by the ambivalent role played by certain comedians, TV hosts and film producers who, according to him, blew hot and cold in these "more than painful" moments.
"... Some people turned their backs on me and, when everything was settled, made a complete turn on themselves and came back. I knew the people who turn their backs but not those who do a 360 degree turn... A form of rotten human beings inside," he denounces. "Comedians who went on TV to tear me apart [...] and then the same guys write me DMs on Instagram to do my opening act," he says, noting the sadness of his parents in the face of this public lynching.
The guest of "On refait la télé" last Saturday, claims to have no plans for revenge. However, Gad proclaims: "I forgive, but I have the list".
