Gad Elmaleh's 'Huge in France': Netflix Series Explores Comedian's Culture Shock in Hollywood

Last Thursday, Netflix released the trailer for Gad Elmaleh’s series called "Huge En France". This series will be available on the platform on April 12.

Half-autobiographical, half-fictional, this is how we can describe Gad El Maleh’s first Netflix series "Huge en France". That is to say, not really being able to untangle all the truth from all the fiction, in short. We can read on the poster what says a lot about the series: "Gad El Maleh is huge in France. In Hollywood, it’s another story."

The synopsis is revealed a bit in the trailer and we can understand that Gad, although famous in France, is not known in the USA. He decides to go to Los Angeles to reconnect with his 16-year-old son, a model who hates comedy. And he’ll have to do it without using his fame since he doesn’t really have any in the USA.

Gad El Maleh also posted the trailer on social networks, with the comment: "Very proud to share the trailer of #HUGEinFrance my 1st series!!!"

"Huge En France" is a series of eight episodes, each thirty minutes long, and is inspired by Gad El Maleh’s (real) project to break through in the United States. It will be available on the Netflix platform on April 12. The role of Noé Elmaleh will be played by Jordan Ver Hoeve and the series was co-produced by Gad Elmaleh, Andy Mogel and Jarrad Paul.
