Fuel Prices Surge in Morocco: Diesel Costs Jump by 1 Dirham per Liter

After a few days of calm, fuel prices at the pump are rising again, especially for diesel, the preferred fuel of Moroccans.
As of this Thursday, September 1, new squeaks at the pump. After benefiting from a drop of nearly 2.50 dirhams for nearly two months, motorists will have to bleed again, according to data collected from the National Federation of Owners, Merchants and Managers of Service Stations in Morocco (FNPCGS). The price of a liter of diesel will increase by about 1 dirham.
On the ground, some have already announced the increase in price. Thus, the price of a liter of diesel is 14.91 dirhams at Afriquia (an increase of 1.03 dirhams per liter) and 14.98 dirhams at Shell stations (an increase of 0.91 dirhams per liter), according to the Federation.
As for the price of gasoline, it will remain the same at Afriquia group service stations (14.68 dirhams per liter). But the price could see a drop of 0.12 dirhams at Shell service stations.
