Fuel Prices Drop in Morocco as Diesel Sees 16-Cent Decrease

In Morocco, fuel prices should see a new drop for the delight of Moroccan motorists.
Since Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the price of diesel (the type of fuel most consumed by Moroccans) has dropped by 16 cents. The liter of diesel is sold at 10.97 dirhams at some players in the capital Rabat. As for the price of gasoline, it remains stable (13.05 dirhams), after having fallen by about 50 cents since mid-March. According to professional sources, prices at sales outlets in other cities will experience "variations depending on transportation and distribution costs".
"The entry into force of the new reduced price varies according to the different players in the fuel distribution sector in Morocco, according to the commercial policy of each company; some may apply it from the first hours of Tuesday, April 1 or in the few days that follow," explains a professional source from the National Federation of Owners, Merchants and Managers of Fuel Service Stations in Morocco to Hespress. And to explain: "the price difference between distribution stations is also governed by the flow of available stock volumes of each liquid petroleum product at each player in the sector".
According to a new Reuters poll, oil prices "will remain under pressure during 2025", particularly due to the effects of US tariffs and the slowdown in economic growth in India and China on demand. The OPEC+ group is continuing its plans to increase production. In the latest transactions at the beginning of the week, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil rose again by 0.72%, to approach $75 a barrel, it is specified.
