From her studies in Morocco to Miss France: Laura Marque opens up

After obtaining her scientific baccalaureate in Morocco, Laura Marque pursued her dentistry studies in Portugal, before returning to France last June. "I left France and my sisters to go live in Senegal with my parents and follow my father, expatriated for his work. It was then at the age of 17 that I went to Morocco," evoking the personal enrichment that these experiences abroad have brought her.

It was after being contacted several times by the committee that Laura Marque decided to embark on the Miss France adventure. Elected Miss Biganos on her first participation, she admits to having had some doubts, particularly in the face of her parents’ concerns. "They wanted me to complete my studies before embarking on such a project," she explains.

Faced with the criticism that the contest is outdated, even sexist, Laura Marque believes that Miss France "has evolved a lot" and that it "allows to highlight women with diverse backgrounds". The opening of the contest to more varied profiles has also encouraged her to participate.

If she is elected Miss France, Laura Marque wishes to get involved in promoting equitable access to care and public health. "It is essential that everyone can have quality care," she affirms.

As for the sudden notoriety that could await her, the young woman says she is ready to handle it, thanks to her education and determination. The online harassment that Eve Gilles has been the victim of does not worry her, even if it saddens her. She admires Marine Lorphelin for her exemplary career, and cites her sisters as a source of inspiration for their success and determination.
