The FRMF hacked by Algerian hackers: will the contracts of the Atlas Lions soon be revealed?

The hacker group JabaRoot, known to be close to Algeria, has claimed to have hacked the computer system of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).

The attackers claim to have accessed the internal databases, including the players’ contracts and management files. This intrusion, which has not been the subject of any official comment on the Moroccan side, comes in a context of increased tensions between supporters after the elimination of the Algerian team by Nigeria on January 10.

JabaRoot justifies this action by what it describes as "harassment" and hostile campaigns targeting the members of the delegation and Algerian supporters since the beginning of the tournament, according to TSA. The group now threatens to make the stolen information public if its demands are not met within 72 hours.

The main reason for this ultimatum is the detention of the influencer Raouf Belkacemi, arrested on January 11 for public indecency. The young man had filmed himself in the stands of the Moulay Hassan stadium in Rabat, making remarks deemed contrary to good morals. The hackers, who plead the case of a joke, claim that the evidence of his innocence would have been erased and demand his immediate release.

This cyber-attack is part of a series of legal cases involving other Algerian nationals on the sidelines of the competition. In addition to the Belkacemi case, two other supporters are currently in custody: one for tearing up a Moroccan banknote as a sign of protest, and another for insulting remarks.
