French Water Fountain Revolution Expands to Morocco for Major Soccer Tournaments

After being installed in large numbers in Paris and other French regions, the Water Connect drinking fountains could soon be installed in Morocco during the Africa Cup of Nations to be held from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026 in the kingdom and the 2030 World Cup.
After the success of innovative water fountains in France, Water Connect, based in Valenton, is conquering the Moroccan market. In April, the company was selected by the Île-de-France region to participate in the economic meetings in Casablanca, in order to meet local decision-makers, reports Le Parisien. "We were able to feel the market, see if our products were of interest, exchange with Moroccan landscape architects and engineering firms, etc.," says Pascal Poncet, the founder.
Thanks to Laurent Saint-Martin, Minister of Foreign Trade and... former Macronist deputy from the constituency in Val-de-Marne, the company has also joined the "Franco-Moroccan task force" deployed in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) football tournament, and the 2030 World Cup, which will be organized in Morocco. "He knows us well," smiles Pascal Poncet. "We find ourselves with big companies: RATP, SNCF, Transdev, Engie, GL Events... We are informed of all the projects, we are studying how we could install water points in front of the stadiums, in their parks, etc. It’s wonderful."
The Water Connect water fountains were created in 2018. These facilities have been a resounding success since the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the 2023 Rugby World Cup, organized in France. "During the Olympics, we installed 78 Mât Source drinking water fountains in the capital for the City of Paris and Eau de Paris, with whom we have now signed a framework contract. Since then, we have been installing them all over the place," Poncet rejoices.
