French Tourists Favor Corsica and European Destinations Over Morocco This Summer

Morocco is not among the preferred destinations of the Corrèze region this summer. Spain and the Balearic Islands (Majorca and Minorca) have stolen the show.
"In terms of travel trends among the people of Corrèze, it’s very clear, Corsica is doing the best right now, because it represents a change of scenery and escape, while still being in France," analyzes Rémi Bastien of Fitour voyages in Brive. "Plus, the huge advantage of Corsica is that we have regional departures from Brive or Limoges."
Corsica is followed at a distance by European destinations. "The ’sun’ destinations, like the Greek islands and Sardinia, are doing very well and interest in Spain and the Balearic Islands (Majorca and Minorca) is picking up. They are replacing Tunisia or Morocco a bit," Rémi Bastien also notes.
According to Valérie Dacosta of the Escapades de Brive travel agency, there are also other destinations that are in demand by the people of Corrèze this summer. "We also have a demand for Croatia, but with difficulties on flight plans that are very low compared to the pre-health crisis period, especially for departures from the provinces," she adds. "When the Head of State says that we must prioritize holidays in France, he is not necessarily preaching to our parish."
