French Opposition Leader Vows to Recognize Moroccan Sovereignty over Western Sahara
In an interview, the deputy from the Alpes-Maritimes, Éric Ciotti, president of the Republican party, reiterated his support for the recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara. A position contrary to that adopted so far by his country, France.

During his recent visit to Morocco, the French elected official expressed his support for the Moroccanness of the Sahara and also called on France, as well as Europe, to avoid "sending unfriendly messages to the kingdom".
