French National Team Addresses Ramadan Fasting for Muslim Players During Euro 2024 Qualifiers

The French national team has several Muslim players in its ranks who should fast during Ramadan, which began on Thursday in the country. Due to the matches they have to play to try to qualify for Euro 2024, a recommendation has been made to them.
As in previous years, the month of Ramadan coincides with matches for the Blues. They should face the Netherlands at the Stade de France (8:45 pm) this Friday, March 24, 2023 and Ireland (8:45 pm) on their facilities on Monday, March 27, as part of their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, which will take place from June 14 to July 14 in Germany.
Among the called-up players are five of Muslim faith who are likely to fast during Ramadan. After discussions with the France staff and given the challenges to be met, it is recommended that Kylian Mbappé’s teammates postpone their fasting to the end of Ramadan as allowed by Islam. Absent, Paul Pogba or N’Golo Kanté are not affected by this recommendation.
