French Montana Documentary ’For Khadija’ to Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival

The documentary "For Khadija" traces the journey of the American rapper of Moroccan origin French Montana. P. Diddy and Drake are the executive producers.
The premiere of the documentary film "For Khadija" will take place on June 16 at the Tribeca Film Festival and will include a panel discussion with "heavy hitters in hip-hop, social justice advocates and pop culture icons," a press release states. Immediately after the screening, French Montana and the Ugandan group Triplets Ghetto Kids will perform.
"For Khadija" follows "the unlikely rise of French Montana, a multi-platinum Moroccan artist, whose single mother sacrificed everything to raise her three young sons in the Bronx, after being abandoned by their father and left destitute. The film travels the world chronicling the unique journey of an immigrant family, a son’s perseverance in the face of insurmountable odds, and a mother’s unwavering faith, all in pursuit of the American dream," the synopsis summarizes.
"I just finished my documentary here... It’s for my mother," French Montana had said during his appearance on Mike Tyson’s "Hotboxin" podcast. "She came here and sacrificed for us. My father left and she stayed, and she helped me become what I became, so I dedicate this record to her."
