French Lawyer Retracts Rape Allegations Against Moroccan Businessmen's Sons

The case of the alleged rape of a French lawyer in Casablanca has taken a new turn with withdrawals in favor of the three accused, sons of wealthy Moroccan businessmen.

The hearing on March 7 was marked by a confrontation between the main accused and the French lawyer, in her capacity as the victim, which resulted in a voluntary and unconditional withdrawal by the latter. Sixtine Félix stated that Kamil Bennis "had neither drugged her, nor sequestered her, nor raped her, thus making inconceivable the existence of accomplices in crimes that, in reality, were never committed," reports Assabah. This allows the investigating judge to reconstruct the complete scenario of that evening.

The French lawyer would not have freely filed a complaint against the sons of wealthy businessmen. Proof of this, the complaint filed in France contained information "that she could not have produced herself, such as the fact that Kamal Bennis had already committed a murder, that he was an influential person, or that he bribed a security official in the district where the villa he occupies is located to ensure his protection, among other nonsense, the sole purpose of which is to inflame minds and convince her to file a complaint in support of the accusations made by her fiancé," specifies the daily.

The three accused, prosecuted as accomplices, had, according to the facts, "only intervened to save" the French lawyer. They rushed to the aid of Sixtine Félix, after her fiancé, Mohamed Amine Naguib, "whom she had just publicly rejected, had a hysterical fit, breaking glass and wanting to catch up with her to assault her." Kamil Bennis, M’hammed Alj and Saad Slaou had therefore intervened. But the situation degenerated into an altercation. Thanks to their intervention, the irreparable was narrowly avoided.

The French lawyer specified in writing that she had decided, of her own free will and in complete freedom, without any pressure or constraint, and without any material consideration, to withdraw her complaint in the case under investigation, we learn. According to a source close to the case, she explained to the investigating judge at the Casablanca Court of Appeal that she was unconscious at the time of the events, and that what she had reported did not correspond to reality.
