French Ice Swimmer Sets National Record in High-Altitude Moroccan Lake

The young French swimmer, Marion Joffle, broke the French record in freestyle swimming last Monday after crossing Lake Tislit in Morocco. She signed a performance of 1.6 km in 4.5°C water in 27 minutes and 42 seconds, becoming the new French record holder.
World champion and multiple French champion in ice swimming, the Northerner has this time reached the summit far from her country, in Morocco.
On Monday, January 23, the Northerner succeeded in her "IceMile" by swimming 1.6 km at 4.5°C in water at nearly 2,200 meters altitude. With a time of 27 minutes and 42 seconds, the swimmer even claims the women’s French record - pending final homologation by the International Ice Swimming Association (IISA).
This new performance adds to the one she achieved in August 2022, by crossing the English Channel by swimming in 9h22 - against 9h42 for the previous record.
