French Firm Sues Mawazine Festival Organizer Over Unpaid Debts, Threatens Major Cultural Event

A French company has expressed its intention to take the association "Maroc Cultures", the organizer of the Mawazine Festival, to court for unpaid financial claims.
A French company intends to sue "Maroc Cultures" in court due to unpaid claims. It is demanding hundreds of thousands of euros in return for the technical services it claims to have provided during the 2024 edition of the Mawazine festival. It supervised main stages including OLM, Bouregreg and the Mohammed V Theatre. The French company also contributed to the organization of the gigantic concert by international star Calvin Harris, which had attracted nearly 150,000 spectators and was considered one of the highlights of the previous edition.
The company explains that it has sent several official correspondences without reaching an amicable settlement. A protocol of agreement would even have been signed in June 2025 to resolve the dispute amicably. But the "Maroc Cultures" association would not have respected it.
