French Father Seeks Justice in France for Daughter's Alleged Rape in Morocco

Archived by the Moroccan justice system for lack of evidence, the case of the alleged rape of a child in a school in Berrechid has been relaunched by the victim’s father before a court in France.

The story goes back eight months when the daughter of a French national, living in Berrechid, was the victim of an attempted rape within a school establishment. The numerous complaints filed with the Moroccan courts were filed due to the lack of tangible evidence.

According to the daily Assabah, the father does not see it that way, and intends to use all means to ensure that justice is done to his daughter. Asking the Attorney General for an explanation as to why the complaint was filed, he ended up being turned away from his office.

Lacking, according to him, a fair assessment by the Moroccan authorities, the French national has decided to turn to the French justice system and the French embassy in Morocco, supporting his file with medical certificates and expert reports. According to them, he should await the conclusion of the investigation.

The victim’s father is surprised by the attitude of the authorities and the officials of the school establishment, who refuse to acknowledge the facts, knowing that they had invited a nurse to treat his daughter’s injuries, forcing her not to talk to her parents.

The father, who is asking the Scientific Police to view the videos from the school’s cameras, is awaiting the conclusions of the investigation conducted jointly by the police services and a special commission from the National Education Delegation to the school, and whose report has just been submitted to the Attorney General’s Office.
