French Far-Right Aide Launches Website Targeting 'Accomplices of Islam'

In France, the "accomplices" of Islam are listed. At the helm, a parliamentary assistant of the Rassemblement national (RN), Damien Rieu.

This parliamentary assistant to RN MEP Philippe Olivier has set up a website aimed at denouncing "accomplices" of Islam. Symbols of Islam are visible on the platform: "the accomplices" written in green, the c in the shape of a crescent, the dot on the i replaced by a star. The whole is titled: "They finance them, they protect them, they relay their discourse." The domain name was purchased in early November. Its use is currently limited to the deployment of the logo and an active search bar.

While there are no legal notices or any elements that could identify the owner of the site, Internet users suspect Mr. Rieu. Members of a "team fighting against all forms of discrimination called Team Harmonium" infiltrated the organization of this site and provided evidence to the newspaper Libération. These are screenshots of private conversations on Twitter or Telegram, voice messages (including from Damien Rieu) extracted from these conversations, documents...

It all started with a call for volunteers posted by this RN assistant on his social networks in early November. "Do you want to take concrete action against Islamism, can you do Internet research and do you have free time? I propose that you participate in an investigation (sic) and monitoring project on the subject. Contact me in private message on Twitter. Shares appreciated," he calls out. The members of the "Harmonium team" responded to this call and were able to join this private group. According to them, this group is dedicated and created on Telegram by the former Génération identitaire executive who joined the RN.

The work of the mobilized volunteers consists of searching for elements capable of proving that certain elected officials would be "accomplices" of "Islamism", of carrying out targeted research and storing the elements found in a dedicated online space and transmitting them by email. The same source claims to have consulted a model sheet of former Prime Minister François Fillon, to whom a "complicity" note of 7/10 was assigned. The elements supposed to prove that he would be compromised are listed there. One of them concerns a circular signed in 2004 to "postpone school exams during Eid". At the time, he held the position of Minister of National Education.
