French Culture Minister Reveals Connection to Tom Cruise Amid ’Top Gun’ Screening

In an interview, the French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, who is also the mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris, opened up about her ties with a famous American actor.
Rachida Dati, so close to Tom Cruise? The French Minister of Culture knows the Hollywood star. Their paths crossed in 2022 when she wanted to obtain authorization for the screening at the Invalides of the film "Top Gun: Maverick", on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Directorate General of External Security (DGSE). "At the time, I got his sister’s number and he called me back. He agreed, then he also allowed students from classes in my district to come and watch the filming of "Mission Impossible" in Paris. A rare occurrence," the minister confides to Gala.
Another meeting between the 62-year-old star and the 58-year-old minister took place in July 2024. Tom Cruise himself wanted Rachida Dati to present him with the insignia of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, on July 27, 2024, reveals the French celebrity magazine. Since then, the two personalities have been getting closer and closer. "We had seen each other two or three times before and we sometimes exchange messages," the minister confides.
