French Authorities Hunt Drug Lord in Morocco Over Major Cocaine Shipments

The suspected drug baron who is believed to have ordered two imports from Tangier in 2022 and 2023 is in the sights of the French justice system.
On the run in Morocco for several years, a drug baron is being sought by France. He is suspected of having ordered two imports from Tangier. He is said to have imported two containers loaded with 364 kg of cocaine intercepted at the port of Montoir-de-Bretagne (Loire-Atlantique), near Saint-Nazaire, in May 2022. The one nicknamed "La Plume" would also be behind the import of 23 kg of cocaine. This merchandise was discovered during the arrest of a "mule" near Orly airport (Val-de-Marne) upon her arrival from Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) in September 2023.
The operations resulted in the arrest of several men from the Nantes region near a hotel next to Orly airport. They would have served as henchmen for the alleged mastermind. The police had also arrested a 49-year-old man from Brest in the Paris region, caught in the act of drug trafficking. He was in the process of loading the cocaine bricks into a vehicle equipped with a hidden compartment. After his arrest, he was remanded in custody on September 28, 2023. On Friday, he was kept in detention, as the public prosecutor’s office feared the risk of repeating the offense. The "mule" in the case "was released in Angers (Maine-et-Loire)," reports PressPepper.
