Franco-Algerian Comedian Wahid Bouzidi Remembered: TF1 to Air Special Tribute Show

In France, tributes are multiplying after the death of Franco-Algerian comedian Wahid Bouzidi, from the "Jamel Comedy Club", who had been urgently hospitalized in a clinic in Marrakech following a stroke.

"Following the death of Wahid Bouzidi, TF1 and Arthur have decided to pay tribute to him with a ’Vendredi tout est permis’ entitled ’Merci Wahid’," announced the private channel. The rebroadcast of the "Grand quiz" hosted by Hélène Mannarino on Saturday at 11:25 pm will give way to "Wahid, tout est permis". An initiative welcomed by Booder. "Thank you to Arthur for this initiative and thank you TF1, thank you to all those who contributed to this tribute. I miss you my brother," he wrote on X. The Franco-Moroccan comedian is among those who paid tribute to Wahid on the show.

"A few words for my partner, for my brother, for the one who made me laugh and lifted my spirits. And to whom I also lifted my spirits. I have tears in my eyes, the comedian said. I miss you terribly, I don’t know what to say to you. I wanted to prepare a text, but I can’t. I know you are in paradise, save me a place next to you, I’m coming. Goodbye my brother, I love you." Nawell Madani, Ahmed Sylla, Redouanne Bougheraba, Rayane Bensetti, Jarry, Philippe Lacheau, Tarek Boudali, Julien Arruti, Medi Sadoun, Issa Doumbia, Camille Lellouche, Donel Jack’sman, Rachid Badouri, Cartman, Az, Tareek, Maëva Coucke, Bruno Guillon, Jovany, Chris Marques and Zatis also said goodbye to their friend in "Wahid, tout est permis".

On August 16, Wahid Bouzidi suffered a stroke while on vacation in Morocco. Admitted urgently to a clinic in Marrakech, he was placed in a coma. His death was announced on Sunday, August 20. In 2021, the comedian had suffered his first stroke. On September 28 of the same year, he had confided to Courrier de l’Atlas: "A month ago (in August 2021), I could barely walk. Doctors kept telling me I would never get back on stage. The fact of performing for hours on stage is a revenge."
