France 24 Updates Map to Show Morocco’s Full Territory, Including Sahara

The channel affiliated with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, France 24, has recently modified its cartographic representation of Morocco. Gone are the days when the southern provinces were cut off, the channel now broadcasts a complete map of the Kingdom, including the Sahara.
This change comes in the wake of the clarification of the French position on the Moroccan Sahara issue. While the demarcation line where the MINURSO forces are deployed is maintained, it is now part of a territory recognized as an integral part of Morocco.
Well before the French channel, many school textbooks had also decided to include the map of Morocco with its Sahara. Other institutions should follow in the coming weeks.
"France, in particular, will continue to anchor the sincerity of its friendship for Morocco and the effectiveness of its partnership with it in a clear and strong position on the most essential issues for Your Majesty and the Moroccans. In this regard, I consider that the present and the future of the Western Sahara fall within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty. Also, I affirm to You the intangibility of the French position on this issue of national security for Your Kingdom. France intends to act in coherence with this position at the national level and internationally. For France, autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty is the framework in which this issue must be resolved. Our support for the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco in 2007 is clear and constant," the French president had written in a letter to King Mohammed VI recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara.
