France–Morocco flights at risk as strike coincides with autumn school holidays
A strike notice covering pilots, flight attendants and cabin crew is in effect from October 17 to 21, at the start of the autumn school holidays. France–Morocco routes operated by French airlines could be disrupted, particularly those of Air France and Transavia France.

The call was published on September 18 by an inter-union group bringing together the SNPL, UNSA PNC, SNPNC, SNGAF and UNAC. The strike notice runs from Saturday, October 17 at 12:01 a.m. to Wednesday, October 21 at 11:59 p.m., Paris time. It applies to flight crews at air transport and aerial work companies subject to French law.

The dates coincide with the first departures for the school holidays. In zones A, B and C, as well as Corsica, the holidays begin on October 17, with classes resuming on November 2, according to the official calendar. Families planning a trip to Morocco during this first week are therefore at risk of disruption.
Transavia France has a significant presence on these routes. The airline has carried more than 1.7 million passengers between the two countries since the start of the year and describes Morocco as its second-largest market. It serves Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca, Rabat and Oujda, as well as Dakhla and Ouarzazate from Paris-Orly.
A dispute over flight crews’ pensions
The unions oppose the planned reform of combining employment and retirement benefits, which is due to take effect on January 1, 2027. They want flight crews and their supplementary pension fund, the CRPN, to be excluded from the scheme. They cite, in particular, strict medical checks and age limits that can force crew members to stop working.
The guarantees proposed by the government are not enough for them. In their statement, the organizations called for protections to be enshrined in legislation and regulations. They say they are available to resume discussions before the strike begins, reports L’Écho touristique.

The strike notice does not yet establish which flights will be canceled or how many employees will walk off the job. It applies to crews subject to French law and does not automatically extend to all airlines operating routes between France and Morocco.
Travelers booked to fly between October 17 and 21 should check with the airline actually operating their flight. Any schedule changes or cancellations should be confirmed in the booking details and messages sent to passengers.
