France Backs Morocco’s Autonomy Plan for Western Sahara Resolution
Saturday 21 December 2019, by
"France supports the autonomy plan presented by Morocco in 2007 as a serious and credible basis for a negotiated political solution," states a joint declaration of the high-level France-Morocco meeting, co-chaired by the French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, and the Head of Government, Saadeddine El Otmani.
Also, France welcomes the serious and credible efforts made by Morocco to move forward, which aim to resolve the Sahara issue. Finally, it reiterates its support for the search for a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution, based on compromise, under the auspices of the United Nations and in accordance with the resolutions of the Security Council.
