France and Morocco Reach Agreement to Ease Tomato Trade Tensions

France and Morocco have finally decided to consult each other to put an end to the trade tensions between tomato producers in the two countries. A bilateral agreement has been reached in this regard.
Avoid overlapping the marketing of Moroccan and French cherry tomatoes, especially during the French production season. This is the objective of this bilateral agreement which should be initialed in mid-March, according to the specialized site Réussir. It is also a question of attenuating the recurring frictions between producers and distributors.
The agreement is the result of the collaboration between representatives of the Moroccan and French sectors. The latter participated in four meetings that were organized last year. According to the agreement, Moroccan cherry tomatoes will not be introduced on the French market until the start of the local season.
This bilateral agreement will - if it is actually implemented - definitively put an end to the trade tensions between tomato producers in the two countries. French producers have in the meantime called for a revision of the free trade agreement. They have also requested a "seasonal
