Formula E World Championship Returns to Marrakech for Crucial Race

Formula E is returning to Morocco this Saturday, July 2 for the eighth season. The championship takes place on the Moulay El Hassan international automobile circuit.
ABB FIA Formula E is returning to Marrakech this Saturday for the 10th round of the 16-race season, with four drivers at the top of the standings for the Formula E World Drivers’ Championship, reports Arab News. The races take place on the Moulay El Hassan international automobile circuit.
Belgian driver Stoffel Vandoorne of Mercedes-EQ leads the Drivers’ World Championship with a five-point lead over his closest challenger and double champion, Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne (DS TECHEETAH). Edoardo Mortara (ROKiT Venturi Racing) is two points behind third place, while Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing), winner of the last competition in Jakarta, is fourth, but only 12 points behind the leader.
The Moulay El Hassan International Automobile Circuit - named after the Crown Prince of Morocco - is a temporary urban motorsport circuit that has hosted the Marrakech ePrix of the FIA Formula E championship since 2016.
