Former Wonderkid Adel Taarabt Reflects on Missed PSG Transfer Opportunity

The Moroccan international, Adel Taarabt, shone brightly when he was younger. His performances allowed him to reveal himself to the point of interesting PSG and other major European clubs.
Adel Taarabt is not about to forget this experience that could have propelled him into this mythical club, PSG. In an interview, the Benfica recruit remembers it as if it were yesterday.
The Benfica midfielder looks back on this transfer that has marked him for life. For Le360, he was the author of a good season with which he was elected Best Player of the Championship (2nd English division). The same source reports that he was on the radar of several clubs including PSG, during the 2010-2011 season.
With regret and pain, the player acknowledges that he missed this opportunity as soon as Léonardo arrived in the position of Sporting Director.
For the player, Al Khelafi, the former Sporting Director, had been seduced by his performances: "After my year at QPR, the year I finished Best Player of the Championship, and we were promoted to the Premier League, it was practically done in Paris. It was just the arrival of Léonardo. And, when he arrived, things were a bit more complicated and it’s true that I took it badly," said the Benfica player.
For the 30-year-old Moroccan international, it was a very painful experience that he had difficulty managing. "It was a big project, PSG, and it’s true that I took it badly because everything was practically done," he concludes.
