Former Moroccan Stars Hadji and Chamakh Pursue Coaching Careers

The two former Atlas Lions Youssef Hadji and Marouane Chamakh are preparing their return to the field, but in a different capacity. They are working to obtain the coaching diploma, in order to pass on to the younger generation everything they have learned over the years.
When you have been in the spotlight for a long time, it is difficult to get rid of it completely. Youssef Hadji and Marouane Chamakh have found a way to return to the sports scene. They are being supervised by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), in partnership with CAF, to obtain their coaching diploma. But this will be once the health crisis shaking the whole world has subsided, reports le360 which points out that Youssef Hadji has been based in Marrakech for 7 months and "hopes to start a coaching career within the Botola". Marouane Chamakh is also aiming for the same trajectory and they both draw their courage from the fact that they have seen other "players before them succeed on the bench".
The two players were "the spearheads of the Atlas Lions in the early 2000s, and had managed to take the national team to the final of the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations, lost against the host country Tunisia".
