Former Moroccan Housing Minister and Prominent Architect Said El Fassi Fihri Dies at 77

Former Moroccan Minister of Housing, Said El Fassi Fihri, died on Wednesday in Rabat, at the age of 77, his family announced.
Born in 1945 in Rabat, Said El Fassi Fihri was not only Minister of Housing. He had also held the position of President of the Superior Council of the Order of Architects, twice in a row.
He was also the first head of the National Order of Architects, as well as the permanent honorary president of the Union of Maghreb Architects, of which he was one of the founding presidents in 1991.
The late Said El Fassi Fihri had also chaired the Mediterranean Union of Architects. In 1995, he was appointed by the late Hassan II as Minister of Housing in the government of Abdellatif Filali.
