Former Moroccan Councilor Sentenced for WhatsApp Sexual Harassment of Man

The court of first instance in Essaouira sentenced a former councilor to four months in prison with probation for sexually harassing a man via WhatsApp. The case came to light in March following a complaint filed by the victim.
According to the daily Assabah, the plaintiff explains that after taking his number from his wife, the former elected official began sending him sexually suggestive messages and videos via WhatsApp, while also calling him late at night.
The man says he repeatedly asked the accused to stop harassing him, threatening to take legal action, but she continued her cyberbullying without regard for the consequences. This is how the victim decided to file a complaint, with audio recordings and written messages as evidence.
Summoned to answer for the facts she is accused of, the defendant tried to deny the facts by blaming everything on her disabled son. But the president confronted her with the messages and recordings, as well as the inability of her son to use the mobile phone.
