Former IMF Chief Strauss-Kahn Touts Morocco’s Investment Potential and Phosphate Reserves

In the eyes of Dominique Strauss-Kahn (DSK), former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), also former French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry, Morocco is a space of investment opportunities.
"Morocco has great economic potential and offers huge investment opportunities," stressed DSK on May 11 during the 2nd edition of the "Days of Promotion and Investment", held in Dakhla at the initiative of the City Promotion Agency. To support his point, he recalled that the kingdom has more than 70% of the world’s phosphate reserves, making it the world’s leading exporter. According to the former IMF chief, this large quantity of phosphate should provide an opportunity to move forward, allow Morocco to further boost its national economy and Moroccan companies to invest in Africa, which represents a real opportunity for them.
In his speech, DSK also discussed the potential of green hydrogen in Morocco and the opportunities offered by the kingdom, particularly in the energy sector. He notably mentioned the project to build the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline, which will cross 13 countries along the Atlantic coast. This mega-project will have a significant impact on regional development, opening the way to new prospects for cooperation in Europe and around the world, notes the former IMF Managing Director.
The 2nd edition of the "Days of Promotion and Investment" was held under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI. Highlighting the sectoral assets and opportunities of the region, debating ways to revitalize and attract investments, exploring ways to facilitate investments and support project leaders were the objectives pursued by the Dakhla Promotion Agency, which initiated it.
