Former Human Rights Minister Eyed to Lead Morocco’s PJD Amid Party Crisis

On the verge of implosion, the Islamists of the PJD are calling on the former Minister of Human Rights, Mustapha Ramid, to take the reins of the party. The man is known for his intransigence and strong convictions.
The PJD is gradually turning the page on the electoral debacle and eyes are turned to the future. In order to get their heads above water and exist on the political chessboard, the party’s heavyweights are looking for a new leader, reports the daily Al Akhbar.
To this end, they are multiplying consultations with a view to bringing Mustapha Ramid to the head of their political formation. According to the newspaper, the home of this PJD heavyweight is increasingly besieged to convince him to accept the position of Secretary General of the party.
For the time being, the latter would have declined the offer, citing the fragility of his health, the same reasons that led him to propose to resign from the government on several occasions.
