Former French Leaders Sarkozy and Strauss-Kahn to Speak at Moroccan Business Conference

Nicolas Sarkozy and Dominique Strauss-Kahn are expected on September 12th in Casablanca. The two men are going there to participate in the second edition of the Summer University organized by the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM).
Registered since 2018, the Summer University of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM) is welcoming two major figures this year.
For this second edition to be held at the ISCAE headquarters, the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco, given the objectives pursued, has requested the participation of Nicolas Sarkozy, former French Head of State, and Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former French Minister of Economy and Finance, former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to Le360, Nicolas Sarkozy has recently reaffirmed that he no longer has any political ambitions aimed at a return to the political scene.
Other personalities from the world are invited to participate in this melting pot of exchanges and sharing which, according to the organizers, is an opportunity that can help to rethink the Moroccan economy based essentially on domestic demand and high public investment.
Salah Eddine Mezouar, President of the CGEM, fully measures the challenge of this second edition. According to the same source, it has been found that the path followed so far by Morocco creates real inequalities, with deep social impacts.
The Summer University therefore comes as an instrument aimed at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the Moroccan economy, characterized today by low growth and low investment levels.
An "Inclusive Growth Pact" will be established for short-term (2020), medium-term (2025) and long-term (2050) economic and social development.
