Former Casablanca Stock Exchange Chief Faces Criminal Charges Despite Settlements

The company Sefania and the H&A Holding have withdrawn their complaints against Hynd Bouhia, following an amicable settlement between the parties. The plaintiffs received certified checks from the accused as well as a repayment schedule.
The former president of the Casablanca Stock Exchange and president of the Global Nexus capital management company, placed in custody last Saturday, is being prosecuted for breach of trust, embezzlement, fraud and fraud.
The withdrawal of the complaints did not prevent the criminal proceedings from taking their course. The suspect, who has been banned from leaving the territory since December 2019, was to appear on Tuesday before the Attorney General at the Court of First Instance in Casablanca.
In the first half of 2019, the AMMC had been seized by three investors in the Green Innov Invest fund, carried by Global Nexus, including the two plaintiffs and the Institute for Solar Energy Research. The Caisse Centrale de Gestion is the fourth investor in the fund.
