Former Algerian International Joins Moroccan Football Federation as Technical Director

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has just recruited former Algerian international Laurent Karim Agouazi as club technical director.

Agouazi himself announced the news on his social media. "Very happy to announce my signing for the next 3 years with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation as club technical director. A magnificent and exciting project," wrote the Franco-Algerian on LinkedIn on Tuesday.

At 40 years old, the former Algerian international spent almost his entire career in France, proving himself at FC Metz, Istres, Tours FC, Caen, Besançon and Boulogne. The former midfielder only has two caps with the Algerian national team, between 2013 and 2014, reports TSA Algérie.

Agouazi was in charge of training the U17 and U19 teams at FC Metz until September 16 last. "He had taken on the role of pre-training manager since the summer of 2023 and now wishes to take on new professional challenges," said the Metz club, without giving details on the Franco-Algerian’s next destination.

In a post on X, journalist Nabil Djellit clarified the appointment of Laurent Agouazi to the FRMF, specifying that the Franco-Algerian "is affiliated with the training center of a Botola club of which he will be in charge. He does not become the DTN of Moroccan football." A position held since July 2022 by the Belgian Chris Van Puyvelde.
