Forbes Highlights Morocco’s Hidden Gems: Tangier Tops Must-Visit Destinations

In addition to Marrakech, which attracts the largest number of tourists each year, there are three places that are a must-see. These places stand out for their originality, beauty and charm.
Tangier is the place every tourist can dream of, says Forbes magazine. An important seaside resort, this city is located at the northwestern tip of the country on the Strait of Gibraltar. It has a variety of hotel and tourist facilities, and a vast beach over 7 km long. Thanks to its assets, this city has attracted many artists and writers such as Paul Bowles, Tennessee Williams, Jack Kerouac and William S. Burroughs. Some have even had high-end homes built there.
Chefchaouen or Chaouen, is an all-blue city located in the mountains of northeastern Morocco. It is a city worth visiting for its tourist attractions. The blue city is one of the most Instagrammable cities in the world. The history of the city dates back to 1492. The Jews expelled from Spain, 21 years after its founding, had given a special touch to Chaouen. They had painted the buildings in blue to reflect the color of the sky and signify the presence and power of God.
Fez is the flagship destination of Morocco. Its medieval medina, so intact and authentic, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It impresses every visitor. Founded in the 8th century AD, the city is home to the oldest university in the world. Fez is considered the cultural and spiritual capital of the kingdom. Sufi music, melodic and hypnotic songs and chants, are developed in this city.
