Fog Forces Royal Air Maroc Flights to Divert from Casablanca to Marrakech

Royal Air Maroc flights had to land this Saturday, January 23, at Marrakech airport instead of Casablanca due to fog, according to Internet users on the company’s fan page.
The thick fog caused the diversion of several planes from their itinerary this Saturday. After circling in vain, hoping for a change in favorable weather conditions, some pilots had to opt for Marrakech airport.
"My sister is on board flight AT 219 from Washington to Casablanca and the plane landed in Marrakech due to fog," says an Internet user on the national carrier’s page. "The airport is going through a crisis right now, many planes are waiting in the air and others are heading to Marrakech airport," warns another.
