Flemish Leader Cancels Morocco Trip Amid Nitrogen Policy Deadlock

While he was supposed to travel to Morocco as part of a trade mission, the Flemish Minister-President, Jan Jambon, did not make the trip. The stalled negotiations on the nitrogen issue are to blame.
Jan Jambon was scheduled to stay in Morocco from Sunday to Wednesday, but with the government still seeking an agreement on the nitrogen issue that is undermining relations within the Flemish majority, the Flemish Minister-President has canceled his trade mission, reports Belga. After the Minister of the Environment, Zuhal Demir (N-VA), submitted a revised proposal and the work did not take effect, meetings will be held in the coming days.
For its part, the CD&V, the party of Agriculture Minister Jo Brouns, demands that "the 800 pages of objections that have been formulated be seriously taken into account" due to the obstacles identified.
